Internet Rate: 2.19% +.25 (Monthly Fee: $20)
C. Terms associated with Merchant Accounts
Merchant Account
An account setup by a bank which allows you to accept credit cards. Your merchant account will deposit collected funds into your business' checking account every 24 hours
Discount Rate
A percentage that is paid to the credit card company on each transaction. If a customer makes a credit card purchase worth $10.00 and your discount rate is 2.40%, you pay $0.24 for the $10 sale.
A competitive discount rate is roughly 2.40%. Keep in mind that discount rates on the web are higher than that of brick and mortar stores. Make sure the rates that are quoted to you are for INTERNET sales.
Gateway Processor/Virtual Terminal
A gateway processor charges your customers' credit cards via the web and sends the funds to your merchant account.
Real-Time Processing
This method of credit card charging authorizes and charges the customer's credit card at the time of purchase.
Offline Processing
This method of credit card charging allows you to capture your customers' credit card information for charging at a later time. If you have an existing offline merchant account, this may be a good option for you.
Monthly Processing Minimum
The monthly processing minimum is the MINIMUM monthly fee you must pay to the credit card company. A competitive monthly minimum is approx $30.
Example: If you sell $1000 in goods over one month, your total Discount Rate (see explanation above) would be $23.90. This amount does not meet the $30 minimum so the credit card company will round your charge up to $30. If the discount rate and transaction fees exceed $30, then you have met the Monthly Processing Minimum and the fee does not apply
Statement Fee
This charge is exactly as it sounds. The fee you pay for the bank to generate and mail you a statement outlining your transactions. Statement fees usually cost between $10.00-$15.00/month.
Transaction Fee
The amount charged per transaction. Most companies charge around $0.30. If you make 50 sales per month. the total transaction fee would equal (0.30 x 50 = $15.00).

B. eBay Basic Walkthrough
Please follow these user friendly instructions on how to set up your cart with your merchant account so that you will be able to process credit cards for your eBay auctions.
After you have completed these instructions, your cart account will be authorized in your eBay account. From that point, for any eBay item that is confirmed for purchase or won in auction, the cart system will automatically send an email to your customers that includes a " Checkout " button that allows your customers to pay for the item.
If you do not have an existing eBay Seller account, please first obtain one at http://sell.ebay.com/sell .
-
Login to www.vswipecart.com with your assigned cart username and password.
-
Connect the cart to your gateway account by going to the section called " Cart Settings ", and the subsection, " Payment/Gateway Settings " and doing the following:
-
Select your gateway.
-
Enter the requested gateway information.
-
Go to the " Extra Features " section of the cart, and then click on the link, " eBay Auctions ". This is located in the left-side menu.

On this page you are given three options.
-
The typical merchant will list all of their products directly into eBay, or use a listing tool like "Turbo Lister". If this describes you, click on the top option.
-
You also have the option to list auctions to eBay through the cart tool " Inventory Control ". If you want to be able to use both, click on the middle option.
-
If you do not want to list directly in eBay and want to list through the cart exclusively, click on the bottom option.
-
Default Shipping Settings or Inventory Control.
-
If you chose option (a) or (b) in step 8, you will now be able to set up some default shipping and handling settings. These settings will only be used if you do not have shipping set up in the auction. You can set up a flat fee using "Handling Charge", and/or allow the cart to calculate a shipping amount by entering an "Item Weight", and a "Ship Method". Your cart is now ready to be used to take payment for your auctions. The following steps are only for those that wish to use the Shopping Cart Inventory Control tool to list auctions to eBay.

-
When complete, you will click on, " Search/Edit An Existing Product " within the cart and a list of all entered items will appear.
-
Select the item(s) to add to eBay by clicking " eBay " in the same column as the item to be formatted and sent to auction.
-
Now these items can be completely described and transmitted to eBay for auction without having to switch back and forth between the cart and eBay.com.

SSL Certificates SSLSupport Center
A. What is SSL?
Secure Sockets Layer, SSL, is the standard security technology for creating an encrypted link between a web server and a browser. This link ensures that all data passed between the web server and browser remain private and integral. SSL is an industry standard and is used by millions of websites in the protection of their online transactions with their customers. In order to be able to generate an SSL link, a web server requires an SSL Certificate. Instant SSL is such a Certificate, and when installed, can be used to create secure links to protect transactions, passwords, personal details, etc
B. Why does an Instant SSL Certificate cost considerably less than other Certification Authorities?
Instant SSL has direct access to the IdAuthority , the largest commercial directory on the web. Instant SSL can therefore expediate the validation of an application. This efficient and highly effective validation method ensures we can issue a Certificate at a greatly reduced cost as reflected through our guaranteed lowest price in the industry as well as maintain a level of validation far superior to the methods employed by other SSL providers. In particular, the validation process employed to issue an InstantSSL Certificate is considerably more than just a domain name ownership check - we firmly believe this method alone to be insufficient to maintain the level of integrity in SSL that consumers have come to expect.
If you would like to compare our pricing to other providers, please read the CA Comparison Chart .
C. What does the Warranty actually mean?
We believe it is important to protect the end user. If we were to mis-issue a certificate to a fraudulent site, and that fraudulent site has an SSL link with an end user and as a result of this the end user loses money. The end user had what they thought was a "trusted session". VSwipe should never have provided the fraudster with the ability to engineer this situation. Hence, we have taken out insurance to pay out money to the end user. How can we do this?
-
We value the end customer
-
We believe the insurance provided greater peace of mind hence allows the merchant to sell more products
-
Most importantly, we value our validation techniques (delivered through the IDAuthority)
We pre-validate customers and provide validation that is far higher than the majority of other SSL providers. Some CA's have very weak validation hence they decide NOT to offer insurance! Finally, it is worth pointing out, that we offer high validation, but not at the compromise of speed. You can still obtain SSL instantly. To see the warranty offered on each of our SSL Certificates click here
D. Why do you ask for documentation when I apply for a certificate?
VSwipe recognizes that strong validation is essential for the continuing growth of ecommerce. Before issuing a certificate we validate both that the applicant owns, or has legal right to use, the domain name featured in the application and secondly that the applicant is a legitimate and legally accountable entity. To do this we need to have access to documentation which verifies these two factors.
E. Why does the website say the SSL certificate is 'Untrusted'?
The usual cause of this is that the VSwipe intermediate certificate has not been loaded.
F. Why does the secure part of the website say the name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the site?
This is usually caused by the certificate having a Common Name of "domain.com" and the customer is going to "www.domain.com"
G. When trying to go to the site over https it displays the message 'The page cannot be displayed'?
Usually caused by port 443 not allowed through firewall or by the SSL certificate not having a corresponding key file.
H. The CSR cannot be decoded?
This is because it is missing one or more required fields or the CSR contains non-alphanumeric characters in the required fields.
I. I cannot remember or have lost my login details.
If you still have the order number they can use the automated password reminder system or if not then an email must be sent from the administrative email address on the account to support@vswipe.com including the original domain name it was purchased for, or the original order number.
J. I have accidentally deleted my "private key" what can I do now?
First check your backups and see if you can re-install the "private key". If you don't know how to re-install the key from your backups, then contact your systems administrator. Failing that, contact your web server software vendor for technical support. The only alternative course of action available is a re-issuance of the certificate following the re-submitting of a replacement CSR.
K. I have changed my server, or moved to a different provider, how do I move the certificate?
The easiest way is to create a new CSR on the new machine and have the certificate re-issued.
