SSL Order Guide

VSwipeSSL Order Guide

This page provides you with a step-by-step description on what you have to do to obtain an SSL Certificate from VSwipeSSL.

I. Prepare your documentation
An SSL Certificate provides confirmation that the domain being visited is owned by the organization listed in the SSL Certificate. Our task is therefore to verify that the following information consistently matches before we issue your SSL Certificate:

  1. The Organization appearing in your D-U-N-S information or "Proof of Organization" documents

  2. The Organization entered into the Certificate Signing Request (CSR)

  3. The Registrant listed in the WHOIS records for the domain name entered into the CSR

You should therefore make sure that:

  1. You know the D-U-N-S number for your organization.

If you do not know your D-U-N-S number, you can contact your local Dun & Bradstreet Customer Service Center and they will be able to tell your D-U-N-S number.

In case you do not have a D-U-N-S number, you will have to provide us with other documentation that confirms your identity as described in Step VI.

  2. The registered owner (Registrant) information of the domain you want to use your SSL Certificate for must match your Organizational information as retrieved from your D-U-N-S number or "Proof of Organization" documentation.

To look up your domain information, you can goto UWhois or your domain registration agency.

In case the Registrant information does not match your Organizational information, you will have to change the domain registrant information through your domain registration agency.

II. Generate your Certificate Signing Request (CSR)
If you own or manage your own server, you will have to generate a Certificate Signing Request (CSR). If your web server is hosted by a third-party or an Internet Service Provider (ISP), then they will be able to provide the CSR for you.

For detailed instructions on how to generate your CSR, please take a look at our CSR generation support page .

III. Determine the SSL Certificate product for your purpose
Depending on what you want to protect, might it be your Web, Intranet or Extranet site, we have a special SSL Certificate for each of those purposes. To help you decide which SSL Certificate is right for you, you might want to take a look at our SSL Certificates page that gives you an overview of our entire SSL Certificate product family.

IV. Order your SSL Certificate
You can start the order process from our product pages by clicking on the "Buy Now" button/link besides the product you want to order.

Our 5 step order process works as follows:

  1. Product Details
You will be able to select the lifetime for you SSL Certificate (1,2 or 3 years) and if you order the VSwipeSSL Wildcard Certificate you will also be able to specify the number of servers you intend to use the VSwipeSSL Wildcard Certificate with. Depending on your choices, you will be able to see what the total cost for your order will be.

  2. Certificate Signing Request (CSR) Info
First, open the CSR that you have generated with an ASCII text editor and Copy & Paste the CSR data into our CSR form field. Next, select the server software you generated your CSR for.

  3. Order Contacts
You will have to provide the following information:

    • Organization Details
Here you provide information about the Organization you request the SSL Certificate for, which is basically the same information you have used to generate the CSR.

    • Organization Contact Person
Here you provide contact information about the person that is a member of the Organization the SSL Certificate is ordered for and who as the authority to request an SSL Certificate on behalf of the Organization. This person will be contacted if further information is required to process your order and he/she will also receive a copy of the SSL Certificate when it is issued.

    • Technical Contact Person
Here you provide contact information about the person who will receive the SSL Certificate when it is issued, and who is notified about SSL Certificate renewals and updates. This person is usually the responsible for the daily operation of the server on which the SSL Certificate will be installed. If your server is hosted by a third-party or ISP, someone within that organization should be listed as the technical contact person.

    • Billing Contact Person
Here you provide contact information about the person responsible for the payment of the SSL Certificate. This person will receive on e-mail a copy of the order confirmation and payment instructions, as well as a receipt once the order is processed.

NOTE: Your Organization Contact, Technical Contact and Billing Contact does not necessarily have to be different persons.

  4. Payment Options
You will be able to chose which payment option you want to use to pay for your order. You can use your Visa or Mastercard or you can pay through your PayPal account or use the offline International SWIFT Bank Transfer.

In case you are based in the EU, we will also ask for your VAT number, since if you do not have a valid VAT number, we must charge the Danish Value Added Tax (VAT). The Danish VAT is 25.00% of the advertised sales price. Danish companies always have to pay the Danish VAT.

  5. Review & Confirm Order
This is the last step before sending your order to us. You will be able to review the contact information you have provided, the payment option you have chosen and the total price for your order. You will also be able to read our terms of service before you press the "Accept" button at the bottom of the page to confirm your order.

In case some of the information is not correct, you can use your browsers back button to go to the previous steps to make adjustments.

V. Pay for your order
Once you have completed your order, you are presented with a page that contains information about what you have ordered and how you can pay for your order.

In case you chose to pay online with your Visa, Mastercard or your PayPal account then you will have to press the "Proceed to Payment Page" button to come to the payment page where you can enter your payment details.

If you chose the SWIFT Bank Transfer payment option, then our system will send an e-mail to your billing contact, which contains information about what you have ordered and how to pay for the order.

VI. We process your order
Once we have received your payment information, we start processing your order. In case we already have a record of your company and domain name(s) in the IdAuthority, our identity assurance provider, we will be able to expedite your SSL application. In most cases, this means that validation of your application and issuance of your SSL Certificate may only take a few minutes.

If we do not already hold sufficient information on your company and domain name(s), or your application data does not completely match the IdAuthority entry for your website, we may require additional information. The informational requirements typically fall into two areas:
